What Is the best projector screen paint in 2023

So, you’re thinking of trading in your projector screen for projector screen paint? That’s a great idea.

Not only are projector paints lower cost than most projector screens, they’re just as good, if not better, at creating high quality projection surfaces.

You may have noticed how not all projector paints are the same color. Projector paints usually come in a white or grey finish. So, which is the best color to choose?

Well, the short answer is, it depends.

Whether you want a higher definition projection area in ambient lighting or better contrast for your home theater, you’re going to want to use a different colored  paint.

Keep reading below to discover which color you should choose to paint a projector wall that best suits your needs.

Create A Projector Wall With White Projector Screen Paint

The main difference between white and grey projector paints is the amount of light they absorb and reflect.

White projector paints absorb less and reflect more light than their grey counterparts. The amount of light a projection surface reflects in comparison to a standard whiteboard is known as its gain value, with a standard whiteboard having a gain value of 1.0.

Most white projector paints will have a gain value that is higher than 1.0, meaning they reflect more light and thus produce brighter images than a standard whiteboard.

So, if you want a projector wall that you can use in meetings, for presentations or just to project brighter images on to, you should choose a white projector paint.

For a high definition projector wall check out Smart Projector Paint Pro. This white projector product has a gain value of 1.1, giving you the ultimate high resolution projections for the b rightest and clearest images.

Create A Projector Wall With Grey Projector Screen Paint

Although white projector paints give you brighter images, they can cause darker colors in your projection to dull a bit. Grey projector paints, on the other hand, will keep your dark colors dark, giving you a higher level of contrast.

The lower gain value of a grey projector product thus gives you get stronger definition on darker images, ultimately giving you a higher contrast projection.

If you want to use your projector wall mostly for gaming and watching movies, or projecting darker images, then you should choose a grey projector paint.
